I just got done trying to hook up the J&S. I got everything hooked up right (From what Mr Rogers posted and the info on the hybrid site) but the car will not start. I jump the green and white wire and the car starts. I disconnect the wires with the car running and it stalls. I think that i might have a defective unit what do you guys think?

    i have a 96 GSR

    Wire J&S ECU
    Power Red ylw/blc
    ground black to chas.
    knock blue to kn sen.
    TPS ylw n/a
in green yel/grn ECU side (at ECU)
    out white ylw/grn ICM side

    What do you think?

First, check to make sure the J&S is getting power. If you have a display you can see the O2 light go back and forth with you try to start... If not, put a voltmeter up to the red wire of the harness.

If the unit gets power, reverse the yellow and green wires.

Heretic, since your using the stock knock sensor for the J&S what is your sensitivity knob position and on what conditions/rpms do you see the J&S start to retard?

    BTW, what's your baseline timing?

    The unit is getting power.

I do not see how switching the yellow and green wires does anything. Yellow = tps and green = icm??? If you mean white and green -- tried that.

What makes you think I'm using the stock knock sensor? I put the J&S sensor in the front my my block. My sensitivity is a little over half-way. I need to reset it I think.

You can't set the baseline timing in my car like you can in other Hondas. It's baseline stock timing, plus I have the BTM. Starting at 4psi I take out .5-.8 degree/psi.

Sometimes I see 1 light... maybe 2 lights flickers right when I first get on the throttle, but that's normal. It goes away quickly. Last night the temp dropped 50C, and my boost creeped from 14.2psi to 15psi, it took out like 6-8 degrees of timing at that point. I noticed and lower my boost controller a bit. I still need to tune the fuel more for that much boost, especially when it's 40 degrees outside. Consequently, while my car is back in the shop (getting a new MSD) I'm having them put a pop-off valve into my intake manifold.
